Rooftop Waterproofing in Iskandar Puteri | Amico Services

Amico Services carried out a comprehensive waterproofing upgrade to a concrete rooftop slab in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. The project addressed ageing surfaces, hairline cracks and hollow areas before installing a reinforced, multi-layer waterproofing system designed for durable protection in Malaysia's demanding weather conditions.

The challenge

The existing concrete roof showed widespread weathering, surface contamination, hairline cracking and localised hollow areas. Rooftop air-conditioning equipment, solar panels and service routes also required careful coordination to maintain access and ensure continuous treatment around upstands, kerbs and perimeter details.

Our waterproofing process

01 · Surface preparation

The rooftop was cleaned using heavy-duty water jetting. Mechanical grinding removed oil, vegetation, algae, dirt and loose particles to create a sound, clean substrate.

02 · Concrete and crack repair

Hairline cracks, defective areas and major hollow sections were opened, prepared and reinstated with Mapei Mapegrout Patch 218. Angle fillets were formed at critical junctions for smoother waterproofing transitions.

03 · Reinforced waterproofing

Multiple layers of NippoCEM Flex cementitious waterproofing membrane were applied, reinforced with fibre net to improve continuity and resistance across the roof slab.

04 · Protective finish

Two finishing coats of Nipposeal Flex 200 in Window Grey completed the system, producing a clean, seamless and weather-resistant rooftop surface.

The completed roof presents a uniform Window Grey finish across open areas, equipment zones and perimeter details. Careful preparation and layered installation provide a continuous protective system while preserving access to rooftop services.
